What are some considerations when choosing between an indoor and outdoor wedding ceremony?

When a wedding day venue offers both indoor and outdoor options for your ceremony, there are a few important things that you and your future spouse should consider before deciding on this detail. Schedule a few tours of the indoor and outdoor options at the wedding venue so that you have multiple opportunities to prayerfully consider your options. Take weather into consideration, as well. If it is a particularly hot time of year, for example, be mindful of the guests who are attending your wedding ceremony. Another consideration is the specific accommodations of the space. Find out if there is seating or standing room only in each space. Think about how many guests you would like to attend your ceremony, and make sure there is enough room for all of them at the wedding venue.

How do we choose accommodations for our wedding reception?

Some of the same considerations should be made for your wedding reception as were considered for your wedding ceremony. While a wedding reception venue does not necessarily need to have the same spiritual presence as the wedding ceremony space, it is still something that you and your future spouse should think about. Tour the spaces and prayerfully reflect on each option. There are a considerable amount of logistical considerations to be made for a wedding reception venue, as well. Just like the wedding ceremony, decide if an indoor or an outdoor space is the right choice for your reception. If you choose an outdoor space, weather and environmental factors, such as lighting and controlling pests like insects, are important to factor in. Be sure you and your future spouse are on the same page about the number of guests you plan to invite to the wedding venue for the reception. The space you choose needs to have adequate seating for every guest who may attend. Other considerations are whether you plan to have a formal dinner or a buffet and what entertainment you plan to have, such as a band or a DJ. Lastly, do not forget about your wedding’s theme. You may be planning an elegant affair, or you may prefer a more rustic feel, and the wedding venue you choose should reflect that.

What are some resources we should consider as a couple before we are married?

At Legends Ranch, we are a wedding venue here in Las Vegas, and we offer a wide variety of resources for couples. Marriage is a sacred bond, and before you take that next step together, it is important to be fully prepared emotionally and spiritually. Premarital counseling is one of the most important steps you can take to prepare to enter a loving marriage. Prayer support is another useful tool for couples that can be taken advantage of as individuals or together. In the event that you need crisis counseling either before or after you are married, you can rest assured that this resource is available to you, along with post-marital counseling. Nothing is more important to us as a wedding venue than making sure you and your future spouse enjoy the most beautiful wedding day to start your union and your life together. That is why we offer these resources, and it is why we only schedule one event per day. When you choose us as your wedding venue, you will have the whole day to enjoy with each other and loved ones.

What are the legal aspects of marriage to be aware of in the state of Nevada?

Marriage is a spiritual bond and a holy union between two people. It is also a legal ceremony. In the state of Nevada, there are a few things you need to know to ensure your marriage is legal. First, you need to obtain a marriage license from the state. You and your future spouse need to both be present to receive this legal document. Next, bring your identification with you and pay a fee. Be sure you obtain this document no sooner than one year before your wedding ceremony is to take place. While Nevada does allow you to get a marriage license the same day of your wedding, this is not advised. After your wedding ceremony, the license will be signed by an approved officiant and returned to the county clerk’s office.

How expensive is the marriage license?

The fee for the marriage license in Clark County is approximately $77. The fee can be paid in cash, credit card, or money orders. Checks and money orders should be made payable to County Clerk. Personal checks, business checks, and traveler's checks are not accepted for marriage license fees. Do note that credit cards may result in an extra fee of 2% in addition to $1.25.

In Nevada, there are no blood test requirements and there is no waiting period between the application and receiving the license. Unlike most states, the license does not expire for an entire year.
